Dr. Lariyah Mohd Sidek<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: large;\"><strong>Chairman of ICDSME2025<span style=\"font-size:medium;\"><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Arial Black&quot;; font-size: large;\"><strong style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Co &#8211; President, Malaysian National Committee on Large Dams (MYCOLD)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Malaysian National Committee on Large Dams (MYCOLD) is a non-governmental organisation and the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) representative for Malaysia. We provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience in dam engineering. Our organisation leads professionals in ensuring that dams are built safely, efficiently, economically, and without detrimental effects on the environment. Our objectives include producing and disseminating information on issues related to dams to all members, acting\nas the sole representative of Malaysia at ICOLD, and carrying out activities related to dam engineering. We also serve as a professional body that links\nsociety and government, supporting national policies, particularly in\ndam-related areas.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\n<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As part of ICDSME2025, which will be held in Kuching, Sarawak, MYCOLD has organised keynote speeches by prominent experts and pre- and post-conference workshops, all aligned with this year\u2019s theme: &#8220;Dam Safety: Energy Transition and Water Transformation.&#8221; This theme reflects the growing importance of sustainable dam management, renewable energy integration, and water resource optimisation in the face of environmental challenges.\n\nAdditionally, MYCOLD has introduced the MYCOLD Best Dam Operator Awards to acknowledge dam operators who follow MyDAMS best practices, ensuring the safety of dams and the public while benefiting the nation.\nWe warmly welcome all stakeholders to join us as co-organisers, sponsors, and exhibitors. MYCOLD promotes cooperation among stakeholders with an interest in dams, including technical, regulatory, and owner representatives, as well as the general public. We develop and share information with members and represent the industry at the government level.
